We’re excited to introduce our Sr. Account Executive, Joe DeBrita! He is originally from eastern Long Island and has lived in New York City over the last 12 years. Joe has been married for 2 years, and he has a 6-month-old daughter and gorgeous 9-year-old cat named Ralph.
Joe got his degree in Psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, but he has been working in performance marketing and AdTech for 10 years — primarily in customer acquisition marketing with Fortune500 brands, building out first-party data sets. The Jeeng team was happy to welcome Joe when he joined us back in August 2020.
Let’s learn a bit more about Joe!
1. What do you love most about your role at Jeeng?
I get to drive a wide array of client performance and problem solve with clients in order to do it. Plus, I work with brands from a variety of verticals, which is fun! I won’t get stuck in any one category of advertisers. I also enjoy “the hunt” and finding needles in the haystack of clients that are looking to diversify tactics and find new channels for digital investment.
2. What advice do you have for someone also interested in that type of position?
Understand that there are good days and bad days. With every “no” you get, you’re one step closer to a “yes”. Also, the landscape is constantly evolving, and it’s important to keep up with all the changes. And remember that your customers pay the bills, so you need to keep their interests in mind. Be customer service oriented even after you close the deal. Don’t be a “sign-on-the-dotted-line” type of person.
3. What are some of your hobbies?
Well, pre-parenthood and pre-COVID, I spent most of my free time playing golf, trying new bars (especially dive bars), exploring nearby towns on weekend getaways, and attending sporting events. (I’m a huge fan of the Yankees, Giants, Knicks and St. John’s).
4. What’s the coolest thing about your job?
The team I’m a part of is strong and unified. And no one takes themselves too seriously. It’s great to work with a team that you feel like you can really collaborate with.
5. The nerdiest thing you do in your free time.
What is, “I am religious about watching Jeopardy every night”?
6. What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?
Amsterdam — it’s very different than anywhere I’d ever been in the US. I loved watching people commute on their bikes, and their lifestyle there is really cool. In the US, my favorite travel spots (so far) are Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez .
7. Biggest guilty pleasure & why?
HGTV – I watch a lot of House Hunters so I know what prices I’ll pay for real estate in towns I’ll never go to.
8. Pet peeve that no one knows about?
Gum chewing (actually, loud chewing in general). People definitely know about it, though.
9. What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I would love to play on the top 100 golf courses in the world — like Pebble Beach and Bandon Dunes, for example.
10. What’s your hidden talent?
I make a mean grilled cheese (It’s the only thing my wife will allow me to cook in our kitchen…)
11. How do you manage work/life balance?
I try to be focused during the day and have a hard stop in the evening — I have set hours when I work, and I stick to those. I have my home office, which is a space in my house where I work that is separate from the rest of the house, so when I leave that space I can properly disconnect and focus on my family.
